The principal objective is to enhance the profitability of the whole horticulture sector in the project area via agricultural marketing support services, support of transparent market information system accessible to all market participants, market studies, marketing publications and marketing along the whole fruit & vegetable value chain, trade missions and participation in the trade shows. Efforts under this assignment should lead to transformation of the horticulture industry in Uzbekistan into a modern sub-sector of economy able to respond quickly and professionally to rapidly changing fresh produce markets requirements worldwide and assure capacity development for all stakeholders that would support efficient use of credit resources under the credit line component of the Project. Capacity developed under this assignment should be sufficient to ensure sustainable development of the horticultural business in the country after the end of the Project
Study of local varieties of fruits & vegetable to determine these with the highest market potential and development of a report with roadmap on promotion of these varieties locally
Carrying out a number of market studies to improve access of Uzbek products to established and new foreign markets, identify new investment and market niches locally, identify new profitable production and marketing opportunities and improve quality of strategic and day-to-day decision making of all participants of the value chain; all of the studies should be made available in Uzbek language via the web-portal, distributed at the Project events and trainings as hard copy on CDs and flash memory sticks and conclusions of these studies should be communicated via newspapers and magazines, TV and at the Project event by specialists of the Project.
Developing the database of farmers, fresh produce traders, input and equipment suppliers, processors and other participants of the value chain;
Helping develop and strengthen industry association to ensure sustainability of capacity development, market information and knowledge transfer activities;
Developing smartphone apps for farmers to use in their marketing efforts;
Publishing of a weekly fresh produce magazine (Uzbek Horticultural Business)
Developing video manuals on all elements marketing and promotion of fresh fruits & vegetables and distribution of these manuals via various channels inclusive of but not limited to web-portal, memory sticks and TV;
Developing, publishing and distribution of manuals on all elements of marketing and promotion of fresh fruits & vegetables via various channels inclusive of but not limited to web-portal, memory sticks, CDs, etc;
